Recreate a favorite photo of a friend, pet or landscape in Charcoal, Paint, Graphite or Digital mediums. I work mostly from photographs but can also piece together many images to create a group portrait or fantasy picture. I work closely with clients to be sure I am creating exactly what they are looking for. 

Digital Painting


Many people believe Photoshop painting is like photo-retouching. On the contrary, Photoshop painting is much more like painting on a canvas with a brush. I do use a reference image for these paintings as well but I am not modifying the image that is already there. I start with a blank page and draw the image from scratch, starting with a sketch and developing more detail as I work. This medium does, however, allow me to have more precision in placement and color tone, and can render more detailed and realistic results.

Current Projects


I often have many projects going at once, finding time to work on them in the gaps in my busy schedule. Progress is slow for my personal art interests but I often prefer my incomplete work to the things I have finished. These immages show my process and how my art developes over time.
