Photo Retouching
Perfection is not reality, distraction is the essence of it...

The art of taking away enough, but not too much
I use photo-retouching as a tool to eliminate distracting elements of photographs so that the subject of the photo can be emphasized. Weather it is taking out stray hairs, pimples and scars or taking a person out of the background, my goal is to maintain and focus the viewer's attention to the essence of the picture.
It has been hard for me to justify changing the way someone looks in a photo because often excessive photo-retouching contributes to cultural body image issues especially for women. I think it is imperative that people love all the imperfections that make them who they are that would be taken out in a retouched photo, but I also think it is important that they be able to portray themselves to be perceived as their "best" selves in certain situations.
